Central Coast Solar Program for Electric and Propane Water Heaters
Do you have an electric or propane water and live in Monterey, San Luis Obispo, or Ventura Counties? If so, we would like to include you in a low-cost or no-cost solar water heating program as part of an upcoming ARRA stimulus proposal.
For a typical family of three, electric water heaters cost $800/year and propane water heaters cost $550/year to operate, both much higher than natural gas. If you are in the higher tiers like most all-electric homes, it's easy to spend $150/month on water heating.
SunCache solar water heaters reduce water heater operating costs by 40%. Solar water heaters will be manufactured in Salinas, doubling the effect of stimulus funding by creating jobs for both manufacturing and installation industries.
